Trans Outaouais offers its in-person support group for members of the trans community and its allies, as well as questioning people aged 16 and over, monthly.

Join us for enriching discussions every 3rd Friday of the month from 6:30PM to 8:30PM, at 🏠Maison Communautaire Daniel-Johnson, 22 Arthur-Buies street, Gatineau, QC, for a chance to share experiences, ask questions and listen to each other.✨

Come alone or accompanied by one person to meet members of the gender-diverse community in Outaouais.

How the groups (in person and virtual) work:

• We go "around the table" to introduce yourself (participation is required)
  
  
• Presentation of the group (what is Trans Outaouais, what is the group’s objective, recognition of the territories)
  
  
• Rules of good conduct (confidentiality, accessibility needs, rules, information on the premises/on how Zoom works) 
  
  
• Sharing on the topic chosen by the participants or suggested by the facilitator (participation optional, but encouraged). 10-minute break after 30 minutes.
  
  
• “Check-in” before the end of the group (optional participation)
  
  
• Announcements (messages from Trans Outaouais, upcoming events, etc.)
  
  
• End of the group session

About the host:

Stéph Meunier (iel/ellui, il/lui, elle in french & they/them, he/him, she/her for english) has been facilitating support groups and workshops for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community for over ten years. They facilitate Trans Outaouais' 16+ support group since 2024 and worked with the organization when they worked at Jeunesse Idem. Their approach is centered in anti-oppression and social justice. Their hosting aims to encourage empowerment of participants and cultivate mutual aid, and a sense of belonging to the community that we are building together. In their daily life, Stéph enjoys singing with friends, swimming, making art and living in a housing cooperative.

Join the virtual group every 1st Friday of the month from 6:30PM to 8:30PM, for enriching discussions, a chance to share experiences, ask questions and listen to each other.✨
